Verticutting and Topdressing

This week we double verticut the greens on Monday and we are currently (Wednesday) topdressing the greens. We will be dragging them in after the dew dries up later today.

Verticutting the greens is a very messy task. We verticut the greens to remove some of the thatch and grass material to help keep them healthier. During this process a lot of material is distributed on the top of the green and it usually takes most of the week to completely clean it up. we have to whip the greens after mowing every morning just to keep them puttable.
We top dress the greens to mix sand into the canopy to help thin out the organics that is forming due to the daily growth of the turf.
