Monday we started aerifying our greens with a 3/4" bayonet tine which is a straight piece of flat metal 1/4" thick and 3/4" wide which places a small slice into the turf. We are able to adjust the depth from 1" deep to 7" deep. we use these tines when we want to open up the soil to allow oxygen and water to penetrate into the compacted soil. This allows us to get our chemicals down into the root system easier and faster.
We had to delay our core aerification until the next scheduled date of June 17th due to the extremely colder weather we had been experiencing.
We will aerifye our tees next week and look to get the fairways done in the near future.
